Knowledge, attitudes and practices among refugee populations and Jordanians are improved towards prevention of COVID-19 and NCDs through the provision of public information, increased awareness, development of online content, healthy nutrition promotion and mental health awareness. The national primary health care system will respond to and prevent the devastating complications from COVID-19, uncontrolled (untreated) diabetes, hypertension and other NCDs based on refined models of integrated primary health care and community level outreach to limit the spread of COVID-19 and NCDs.People living with NCDs, specifically older people and refugees, are supported during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic with access to hygienic materials and essential supplies; access to equipment and consumables for NCD patients; access to testing; access to NCD medication; and access to clinics and hospitals for vulnerable groups. The capacity of health care providers and community health committees is improved to provide support to NCD patients, specifically older people and refugees. The sustainability of the national COVID-19 response in Jordan is enhanced with coronavirus website support, online training, and online tutorials.
WDF20-1770 aims to provide public information and increase awareness about COVID-19 and NCDs, as well as facilitate access to health services, support and care for NCD patients, specifically older people in both refugee populations and Jordanians.Through the implementation of this project, the Royal Awareness Society will provide access to information and health services, promote healthy lifestyles, facilitate access to care for both refugee populations and Jordanians, and ensure sustainability of the proposed project activities and the current national COVID-19 response efforts. From a preventive perspective this will contribute to knowledge, attitudes and practices among refugee populations and Jordanians leading towards a healthy lifestyle. From a clinical perspective, the project will enhance the overall national primary health care system to respond to and prevent the devastating complications from COVID-19, uncontrolled/untreated diabetes, hypertension and other NCDs.
