Objectives
The project will support ongoing efforts by the Govt. of India to strengthen the provision of antenatal (ANC) and Gestational Diabetes (GDM) care by deploying cost-effective technology and IT-based solutions to mainstream the knowledge and skills.
Approach
Leveraging Maternity Foundation’s existing presence and reach in India, and their digital learning tool for skilled birth attendants: the Safe Delivery App. This project will focus specifically on strengthening ANC and the integration of GDM care.
Activities will include the development of new clinical content on ANC and GDM, which will be added to the Safe Delivery App in English and Hindi.
Orientation trainings and more in-depth ToT trainings will be conducted for health care workers (HCW) and students in two aspirational districts of the Madhya Pradesh state. The GDM and ANC modules will be institutionalised into the curriculum for nurses.
To enhance the Safe Delivery App, and continue to ensure broad reach, this project will also seek to enhance the user experience by adding new functionalities. Lastly, the project will have a strong focus on assessing and documenting the impact of activities.
