Mr Jensen has a long history with the World Diabetes Foundation. He served as the first Managing Director of the WDF, holding the position from 2002 until 2005. After launching the young Foundation, he served as Vice Chairman of its Board of Directors from 2005 to 2017. He returned to the Foundation as Managing Director on 1 November 2017.
Mr Jensen has also worked for Novo Nordisk, holding several managerial positions in the company. He worked as Regional Finance & HR Director of Asia Pacific Headquarters in Singapore from 1996-2001, Director of the Strategic Operations Africa Gulf office in Athens from 2005-7, and Vice President of Strategic Operations in Zürich from 2007-10, returning to Denmark as Head of Global Rewards, Mobility & Performance Management in 2010. In the course of his 25-year career in diabetes treatment and care, he has visited more than 100 countries.
Leif has a Master's degree in Economics and is a Danish citizen.
