BAGSVÆRD, DENMARK – The World Diabetes Foundation today announced the constitution of a new Board of Directors. The Board consists of Dr Anil Kapur (Chair), Ms Michala Fischer-Hansen (Vice Chair), Ms Ida Nicolaisen, Dr Kaushik Ramaiya, Prof Abdallah Daar, and Mr Frederik Kier.
Ms Fischer-Hansen is Corporate Vice President, Global Public Affairs and Sustainability at Novo Nordisk A/S, and based in Copenhagen, Denmark. She joined Novo Nordisk in 2000, and has since held different managerial roles within the company in Denmark, the United States and Australia. She recently served as VP and General Manager for the company’s Australian and New Zealand affiliate from April 2016 to March 2019.
She holds a master’s degree in International Business from Copenhagen Business School, and served on the Board of Medicines Australia from 2017-2019.
Ms Fischer-Hansen assumes the vice chair post from Mr Mike Rulis, who left the Board in February upon his retirement from Novo Nordisk.

The World Diabetes Foundation is an independent trust dedicated to the prevention and treatment of diabetes in the developing world.
Its aim is to alleviate human suffering related to diabetes and its complications among those least able to withstand the burden of the disease. The Foundation supports sustainable partnerships and acts as a catalyst to help others do more.
