WDF an internationally recognized organisation

The Foundation has been in existence for four years and the results of the Foundation’s work are taking shape, and the impacts of the various projects are becoming clear. Even as the work is in progress the World Diabetes Foundation has now entered a new phase leaving behind the childhood years. The strategy of the Foundation has been to act as a catalyst - help others do more - making a much greater impact than the size of the Foundation would otherwise suggest.

The rapid increase in  the WDF supported projects is made possible because of the awareness and advocacy that has been displayed from our project partners and local champions in the developing world and with help from solid contributions and established partnerships with organizations like WHO, IDF and DANIDA, DanChurchAid, The Insulin Foundation, the German NGO Humanitäre, CubaHilfe, the Spanish foundation Fundación Para la Diabetes, local diabetes associations and the Ministry of Health in various countries, leading diabetes research institutions and WHO collaborating centres.

Through these partnerships we have been able to raise global awareness of diabetes and find the additional resources to address and potentially limit the epidemic. Frequent donations from both private persons and companies as well as contributions from established organisations and local governments are visible indicators of the consolidation of the Foundation as an internationally recognized organisation.
