Objective

The project aims to develop a standard diabetes education curriculum to improve the quality of diabetes care in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Expected impact

  • Acceptance of diabetes education as an integral part of diabetes care in Sub-Saharan Africa
  • Increased awareness of diabetes among all stakeholders

Results to date

  • The “Diabetes Education Training Manual” has been published in English and French. A version in Portuguese will be available soon.
  • The "Diabetes Education Training Manaual" has been implemented through national workshops in the following countries: Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Senegal, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda and Zambia.
