The WDF in collaboration with the Ministry of Health Vietnam and the Western Pacific Diabetes Declaration is convening a Diabetes Summit from the 21st to 23rd February 2006, in Hanoi, Vietnam.
The Western Pacific Declaration on Diabetes is a joint effort by the World Health Organization, the International Diabetes Federation, and the Secretariat of the Pacific Community to bring diabetes to the attention of professionals and policy-makers in the Region.
Summit objective and goals
An important goal of the summit is to bring to the notice of policy makers, health officials, care providers and specific donors the need for possible prevention strategies and better diabetes care in the developing world.
The summit will offer a wide array of relevant topics presented by International experts and for participative in interactive workshops to help come up with ideas and solutions for future work.
We hope the summit will serve as a forum of interaction between the various stakeholders and WDF partners and help create a network of committed and interested people to move the agenda on prevention and care for non communicable diseases forward.
