Novo Nordisk India "Takes Action" with 4 schools in Bangalore to mark World Diabetes Day 2005.
Novo Nordisk India held an event that reached around 10,000 children in four prominent schools - BishopCottonGirlsSchool, Vagdevi Vilas school, Oxford school & GoodwillSchool in Bangalore.
The events were organized with lot of interactive sessions, fun and walking. Out of these 10,000, close to 4000 children participated at 15:30hrs in the Global Diabetes Walk.
Novo Nordisk India organised this special event with school children as part of Novo Nordisk's global initiative - ‘Take Action’ to create awareness about Diabetes among children and young people.
They organized an awareness campaign the school children, teachers, and parents. The focus was on prevention of diabetes and lifestyle modification with special reference to diet and exercise.
In India, November 14th is also celebrated as Children’s day as it is the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru the first Prime Minister of Independent India.
The Company organized interactive sessions with 4 leading Dibetologists and Dieticians of the city at these schools and stressed that healthy habits need to be learnt early for a healthier and happier life.
The programmes also roped in eminent sports personalities like Pankaj Adwani, world Snooker champion (1993), Ashwini Nachappa, an athlete of international fame, who flagged-off the events. |
