Since 10:00 am a lot of people started coming and registering in the meeting point of Syntagma square which is located near the Greek Parliament and has been offered us free of charge by the municipality of Athens.
Despite the ominous weather forecast, the number of the people was increased continuously and we all together were having fun with the music band which has been invited especially for this occasion
Among the participants, there were many Athenians and at the same time people from different cities of Greece, who traveled a lot in order to be with us.

We have to mention that many politicians from different parties honored us with their presence and their participation. Furthermore it was a great pleasure to have between us the president of Global Diabetes Federation Mr. Pierre J. Lefebvre.
Approximately the total number of people who came in the square was 1250 but only 769 of them participated in the walk. Beyond walk we had the chance to give 8500 leaflets to passer-by’s and to inform them about diabetes.

Taking account on the bad weather condition we could surely say that we achieved a great event. Key factor in this success was the support of the Greek association of people with Diabetes, the Greek Diabetes Federation, the municipality of Athens, but most of all was the help which has been offered by the volunteers.
