How to apply

We encourage you to submit your application for funding of your project within our focus areas. The ultimate authority for approving projects for funding resides with the Board of Directors.

Project applications are submitted at fixed deadlines (deadlines) and presented to the Board of Directors for examination and decision at one of their four yearly meetings.

As a general rule, all applicants receive a response from the Secretariat with the decision regarding their application within one month after the Board Meeting at which their application has been discussed.

Upon approval of the project a Project Partnership Agreement (contract) will be prepared for signature by the Foundation and the partner.

In addition to supporting general improvement of diabetes care, WDF currently supports six focus areas:

  • The diabetic foot (prevention of amputations)
  • Eye care (prevention of blindness)
  • Children with diabetes (prevention, education, treatment)
  • Mothers and diabetes (nutrition, prevention, education)
  • The Coming Generation (primary prevention)
  • Diabetes and tuberculosis (co-morbidity)

Submit proposal

Project proposals should be filed using our project application form and project budget template (also available in FrenchSpanish and Portuguese).

If you need help or advice when filling in the form, please feel free to contact the Secretariat.
