Diabetes and tuberculosis
Diabetes and tuberculosis is one of WDF's new focus areas
Since the WDF, first raised the issue about the neglected link between diabetes and tuberculosis, a systematic review and expert meetings have been held to get an overview of existing reviews and evidence in the field. In August 2011, the first collborative framework for care and control of tuberculosis and diabetes was launched with the WHO and The Union as technical partners.
To date, WDF has granted support to seven projects focusing on the link between diabetes and tuberculosis in China, India, Malawi, Nigeria, Mexico and Brazil.
