90% of the world’s cases of diabetes is type 2 and mostly occur later in life. These cases are lifestyle oriented and in most cases preventable. When type 2 diabetes is a reality, however, the condition can be controlled and managed. Physical activity and diet are essential ingredients in preventing or controlling diabetes.

The remaining 10% of cases which are type 1 mostly occur in children. While these cases are generally difficult to prevent, the life quality of people living with type 1 diabetes is also closely linked to their physical activity and diet.

For all people with or without diabetes, a healthy lifestyle can make a difference in the quality of life. It may prevent diabetes or other non-communicable diseases and make life more fun!
