The project seeks to improve prevention and control of diabetes in Ogun State, Nigeria.

Results to date
Letters of commitment have been obtained from the State Minister of Health nominating 20 state hospitals to establish NCD clinics. Visitations to all hospitals have been conducted.
377 health care providers have attended the 5-day general training programme and 176 the advanced programme on diabetes.
14 different educational flyers have been produced and are to be used in the established NCD clinics.
A questionnaire on knowledge of diabetes and hypertension among health workers in all selected hospitals has been distributed and data is being analysed.
T-shirts, caps and notebooks with logos have been produced and distributed to health care providers at the NCD clinics.
The project has established an office located in Sagamu town.
World Diabetes Day was celebrated on 14 November including screening of 597 participants. The event got wide media coverage.
