North Dakota, Fort Berthold

From the Indian Reservation Fort Berthold, Lila Wells sends these pictures from a cold and windy Global Diabetes Walk on November 14th. The children in the walk held signs with messages such as  '246 million', 'Global Diabetes Walk', 'World Diabetes Day',  and the title of the local programme 'Ft. Berthold Diabetes Program' as well as the number ''700+' which is the number of people with diabetes on the Indian Reservation.

The weather forecast said the winds were 25-45 mph with the temperature around 40 degrees, which made it estimated around -10 below Fahrenheit. That being the case, Mrs Wells was proud that 164 walkers still wanted to join that day.
