The slogan for the first ever walkathon on diabetes awareness to support World Diabetes Day
2007 in Abu Dhabi was 'START WALKING. PREVENT DIABETES'.
Walk coordinator Anu Bhatnagar reports that Mubadala's CEO, His Excellency Khaldoon Al Mubarak led more than 4,500 people as the nation paced a five kilometre route along Abu Dhabi's corniche to mark the region's first-ever walkathon against diabetes.
WALK UAE on Friday November 23 2007, was part of the nationwide public health awareness campaign, 'DIABETES.KNOWLEDGE.ACTION.', by Imperial College London Diabetes Centre (ICLDC), in association with Emirates Foundation, U.A.E.
