In partnership with Banting House National Historic Site and the Canadian Diabetes Association, 1350 staff and students of Sir Frederick Banting Secondary School and Info~Tech Research Group joined the world in the Global Diabetes Walk 2006. 

London Ontario Canada is recognised as the "The Birthplace of Insulin", and is home to the "Flame of Hope", the IDF time capsule to be opened by the research team who discovers the cure for diabetes.
